Thank you for taking your time to look. This came from a local estate sale a Up for sale is a used Makita 9227C Variable Speed Electric Sander-Polisher. It is in excellent used condition. It shows very little use, the only issue is there is some evidence of lightly dried polish on some parts. It comes with 2 pads, the handles and the bag. The bag does show heavy wear. I would guess some took the polisher out and used it for a tool bag. This has been stored in a shop for a while and does have shop dust. This came from a local estate sale and I do not know the history of the machine, from the paper work it looks like it is from 2007 or so. Emco Unimat SL with variable speed 200W electric motor see video! Item description: This is Emco Unimat SL machine with variable speed 200W electric motor. Actually, considering the price, this motor is the best existing on the market replacement for the original (and, in my opinion, dreadful) Unimat SL motors. The replacement motor is robust and built to last with minimum requirements for maintenance. 200W motor power is regarded as continuous, so you do not need to be bothered anymore with observing your motor duty cycle time. However, under full load the heat of the motor casing will be such that it is not possible to physically handle for any length of time. It seems that, apart from excellent functional aspects, there was also a great consideration given to aesthetically please users, as the replacement motor with speed controller looks stunning. The vintage, retro steam punk style of the controller merges very well with the visual style of Unimat SL. The speed range for this motor is from approx 1000rpm to 4000rpm. It can be connected to any single phase mains socket between 220V – 240V AC providing that proper plug adaptor is used. To add some personal feedback about this motor, I need to notice that once I replaced the old, original, 95W weak! , badly duty cycled Unimat motor my first, surprisingly positive, impression was that my Unimat becomes “completely different (in a good sense) machine”. I also experimented a lot with changing belts length with connection to variable speed, but my final, personal preference is to use just one belt and change the speed from minimum to maximum by simply turning the knob. This of course depends on what I do. Because you can switch the motor on and off by pushing the knob down, this does not affect the pre-adjusted speed. You can switch it on and off and independently adjust the speed. I however would recommend you to spend some time and make few experiments with different belts lengths on different belt pulleys, so you can explore a large number of options for speed and torque. This version is equipped with toggle switch to control direction of the rotor rotation. Three positions of the switch allows to: a run the rotor clockwise, b stop the rotor when it is switched to opposite direction of rotation, c run the rotor anticlockwise. The replacement motor with speed controller is almost new.
